The Sanctuary Women, Children & Pet Refuge

In 2020 our generous members, donors and friends of Zonta Brisbane City Heart, who donated to our Foundation launch saw us donating $20,000 to the Sanctuary Women, Childrens & Pet Refuge. 

The Sanctuary Women, Children and Pet’s Refuge are a NFP, providing a safe place for women, their children AND their pets to run to, to escape violent domestic situations.

Simone Patterson, the powerhouse who started and runs The Sanctuary has shared that desperate calls from women have increased dramatically since the beginning of COVID. So, now more than ever, it is so appropriate that this very worthy organisation is using the Zonta Brisbane City Heart Foundation donations to help build more accommodation rooms, so that terrified women, kids and animals have somewhere safe to run to and rest their heads without fear.

We are so very humbled at the work The Sanctuary does and it was our honour to distribute your generously donated funds to this organisation so that they can continue to help victims of domestic violence.
